Insignia - Autobot by SigmaCore Location - Earth by SigmaCore Location - Cybertron by SigmaCore
Sub-group: Dinobots
Function: Dinobot bombardier
Motto: "Fear can hit targets unreachable to bullets."

Profile: "Enjoys watching enemies scatter before him as he dives down from the sky... considers spreading fear his greatest weapon. This Dinobot's kind, good-natured side disguised by his horrifing form... even his comrades shy away. Flies at 250mph... air-to-air missile launcher under each wing fires missiles equivalent of 5000lbs. TNT, 8 mile range. As robot, uses launchers and 4000 degrees Celcius thermal sword. Fragile wings vulnerable to enemy firepower."

Eeeeeeee!!!!1!!eleven!! :XD: Swoop!! :glomp:  I simply adore Swoop. Never mind my liking of Slag's jalepeno-fueled fire breath, Grimlock's speech impediment, Snarl's eco-refuling possibilities or Sludge's hot foot, nothing compares to the ultimate coolness of Swoop, the only Dinobot in the cartoon, aside from Grimlock, to get a full episode dedicated to him (Desertion of the Dinobots P2.) As one of the few pre-Aerialbots Autobot that could fly, he's always had a big warn spot in my little collector's heart. I have any and all versions of the character, aside from BotCon Windrazor from a few years back and the original Diaclone version (eBay prices are nutzoid for both), and plan on getting everylast version of him until Transformers comes to a grinding halt 250,000 years into the future.

Why is it that I like him so much? Well, lesse: Dinosaur alt-mode + flying dinosaur alt-mode + he lost his original name (Divebomb) to the Decepticon now named as such (UK Marvel comics) + he squawks before talking in the cartoon + for some reason, he survives into the Beast Wars era + he has a flying dinosaur (well, technically pterosaur) alt-mode + is the Dinobot liaison to the other Autobots + is blue (yeah, in the cartoon only, but still) + he's basically a sweet, all around good natured guy. Which equals total devotion and love to me. :D :XD:

:pencil:: I used Grimlock as a reference to keep the proportions straight. The blue on his chest plate is actually lifted right off of a screencap, for that added extra touch. I actually played around with the idea of making only one version of Swoop, but decided against it, simply because 1) I was so in a Dinobot rush and 2) I basically make these sprites for my own private filing system, and since I don't own a Diaclone version, I needed a toy-colored version (which I'll eventually post here, don't worry.)

:bulletblue: The Generation 1 versions of the Dinobots are: Grimlock/Grimlock -AM-, Slag, Sludge, Snarl/Snarl -AM- and Swoop.
:bulletblue: The toy versions of these five can be seen here: Grimlock -Toy-, Slag -Toy-, Sludge -Toy-, Snarl -Toy- and Swoop -Toy-.
:bulletblue: The G2 iteration of the Dinobots are: G2 Grimlock/Grimlock -Turquoise-/Grimlock -Proto- , G2 Slag/Slag -Red-, G2 Sludge, G2 Snarl/Snarl -Green- and G2 Swoop.

:bulletred: The original G1 Swoop mold and toy designs are © Hasbro and TakaraTomy.

I have a huge soft spot for the Dinobots, but Swoop has to be my favorite of them. He's just so awesome... :D
